[...] If over the last couple of days, I have been weblogging about different conference events that rather I would be attending or that I would be interested in attending. Well, here is a third follow up weblog post on another event that I will be making it to and that I am surely going to enjoy quite a bit, since I am already very familiar with it as I attended it last year as well. Yes, I am talking about IBM’s Professional Technical Leadership Exchange, which is going to take place this year in Paris during the course of 21st till 24th of May and which will host several thousand IBM technical and delivery leaders coming from all over the place.
[...] In last year’s event in Madrid I must confess that the networking opportunities were not as good as I thought they would be. There were very few breaks and too short overall, so when you got quite comfortable with the whole thing you find out that the event is over! This year though things have been quite different. We had plenty of different networking opportunities, with breaks in between keynote and elective sessions of about 45 minutes and plenty of time for lunch, too! And all that without counting the networking events put together after the long day attending different sessions. It looks like the organisers of the event actually acted upon the feedback many of us provided in this respect last year! Great stuff! [...]

[...] Some time ago I mentioned how I was actually going to attend the IBM Professional Technical Leadership Exchange, taking place in Madrid, to give a presentation on one of my favourite topics regarding Knowledge Management: Personal Knowledge Management. Well, this time around I am actually going to the US, Somers, NY, to provide another presentation around that very same subject: Personal KM, next week Monday, from the 10th till the 12th to an IBM internal audience. I will actually be arriving at the Hilton Garden Inn Danbury this coming Friday and will actually be leaving next week Thursday. [...]

[...] I must say that I not always take advantage of such naps, or siestas, whatever name you would want to make use of, but I tell you something, whenever I can I try to go for one of them and I cannot stress out enough how re-energising they can be. It makes you feel like you could go for the rest of the day with the same energy as in the early morning. I have been trying to go with this tip for quite some time now and it surely makes you feel completely different. In case you haven’t tried it out, you should. I guess this is one of those worth while tips following up on and I am glad that Laura feels the same way as well. I actually found out throughout the years that they are great specially when you are travelling to different conference events with very long and intensive agendas from the early morning till the late evening. There is nothing like a 20 minute nap in the middle of the afternoon to then be able to respond to such demanding events throughout the whole day. I tried it out back again while I was at the TLE event in Madrid and will certainly repeat it in whatever the next event that I may get to attend. And believe me, you should do it, too. You would thank me for it later. [...]

[...] What an exciting week, indeed, last week, folks! I am now back from Madrid where I attended the IBM Professional Technical Leadership Exchange last week. If you would remember, I was also scheduled to present on the topic Personal Knowledge Management, specially on how IBM is making use of PKM related tools in order to augment different KM strategies already in place to foster and boost knowledge sharing and collaboration. Well, the presentation went very well and had lots of positive feedback. I may detail some more about its contents and perhaps share the slides at a later time once I get the go ahead, since most of the information was meant for IBM internal purposes. Thus stay tuned.
